Welcome to the website of the Air Force Junior Reserves Officers’ Training Corps (AFJROTC), unit GA-052.
On behalf of the Senior Aerospace Science Instructor, Colonel Tom Butler, and the Aerospace Science Instructor, Master Sergeant Trasharn Daniels, I am excited you are here.
Our site is designed to assist cadets, their parents/guardians, our school, and friends in the community to quickly navigate to areas of interest and information.
From a modest beginning of 20 units in 1966, AFJROTC has grown to over 850 units throughout the world, with over 100,000 cadets. GA-052 was established at Wheeler High School on September 1st, 1970 (see here).
The “05” means our unit was created during the 5th year of the AFJROTC program’s existence (1970). The dash “2” means it was the 2nd unit within the state of Georgia established for that year.
Over the years, Walton High School joined us through a cross-town agreement, bringing even more diversity and strength to our program.
We have a rich and full history of accomplishments. That heritage now falls on the current cadets of the corps, and each and every day we strive to make ourselves better and our parents, school, and community proud.
Our cadet-run program is designed to equip students with essential leadership and management skills, preparing them for success in any career or education path they choose to follow after graduation. Notably, our unit “exceeded standards” at our 7 March Unit Evaluation, making us one of the best programs in the country.
