Wheeler/Walton High School instructors are retired Air Force commissioned and senior noncommissioned officers (SNCOs). 

The Senior Aerospace Science Instructor (SASI) works alongside the SNCO Aerospace Science Instructor (ASI) to provide lessons in the areas of Aerospace Science as well as Leadership Education. 

Together they manage and administer the AFJROTC program as prescribed by the U.S. Air Force. 

This includes curriculum design and execution, managing all programs, extracurricular activities and logistics, as well as organizing community service projects and field trips for the Corps of Cadets. 

Both the SASI and the ASI are certified for their positions by the Air Force and Cobb County School District.
